The Future Minerals Forum (FMF) opened on Wednesday, 13th January 2022, with a speech from the Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, H.E. Bandar Al Khorayef, who emphasized that FMF just marked the “beginning of a plan” that would drive the development of the rich mineral resources of the Arabian Shield, which is located in the Western & Central parts of Saudi Arabia, with untapped resources valued at more than SAR 4.8 Trillion. The FMF lasted for 2 days at King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
The FMF aims to create a mining hub for minerals in Saudi Arabia by highlighting opportunities in Saudi Arabia & the MENA region. As part of Saudi Vision 2030, significant structural reforms are planned in the mining sector including building a database of the Kingdom’s mineral resources, reviewing licensing procedures, investing in infrastructure, private sector investments, developing funding methods, and forming international partnerships to ensure that the sector’s annual contribution to the Kingdom’s GDP reaches SAR 97 billion by 2030 creating 90,000 job opportunities in the process.
Senior representatives from ALZAIMOOR Finance Limited attended the forum and met several companies and stakeholders who are active in this strategic sector.
